The afternoon will take the form of a paint-along of a winter landscape in A5 landscape format using a pure watercolour technique. The artist Kyffin Williams painted similar scenes
of the ruined farm buildings above Deiniolen in North Wales but this painting comes from my photographs and sketches taken in October of this year. Skills learnt in producing this
painting will include the laying of an effective wet into wet sky as well as how to convert a scene into a winter one (there was no snow in October - even 1000 ft up above Deiniolen).
The A5 watercolour painting of the subject will be created with reference to photographic material as well as my original paintings and will be painted on a quality A5 watercolour card. At the you should have a completed art work and leave with the knowledge of how to reproduce this painting again should you so wish.
The techniques that I use will follow a step by step approach. This method of teaching allows the individual to quickly develop confidence in using the paints. Skills are also built up through the explanation of the various techniques used in painting the scene. I always encourage the development of a personal style of painting which is achieved through individual assessment at various stages of the painting. No one paints exactly the same, we are all unique.
Course Fee - £10.00p This includes all art materials (inc watercolour cards and envelopes) as well as the loan of brushes etc.
Booking is preferable as course numbers are limited to 7 due to available seating space.
