Malcolm will demonstrate how to paint an effective flower portrait of a White Aster type flower set in a wet into wet background of warm earthy colours.
The afternoon will feature a paint-along where the participants will create a watercolour painting of an aster using a wet into wet technique for the background as well as using masking fluid to retain the white of the paper.
Reference to copied material and also the original painting will be available to aid the study - There may be original flowers to paint from too providing they are in flower. By the end you should have a completed painting and leave with the knowledge of how to reproduce this painting again should you so wish.
This sort of painting can easily be reproduced to make a nice greetings card - you can even change the colour of the flower
The techniques used will follow a step by step
approach. This method of teaching allows the individual to quickly develop confidence in using the paints. Skills are also built up through the explanation of the various techniques used in painting the scene. The development of a personal style of painting is encouraged through individual assessment at various stages of the painting. No one paints exactly the same, we are all unique.
Course Fee - £12.00p
This includes all art materials as well as the loan of brushes etc.
Booking is preferable as course numbers will be kept small (max 8) to ensure individual attention.

Providing encouragement, stimulation and
development, while having a good time, for the beginner as well as the developing artist.
