A painting of Teasels from reference material taken at Nursery End Garden Centre, Clayton - le - Moors towards the end of last year (2012) while holding a painting class there. They were just outside the window where we were painting and were towards the cricket field side of the Nursery.
The painting here in the photo is the first one I painted but I think the one as I did as part of the paint-along at Altham, on the 17th Jan, was even better. This was because I played around with the composition a little bit and, despite it being painted on the same paper, room temperature plays a large part in how the wet into wet takes shape. A good one for turning into a greetings card too.
