I am holding a painting class at Portfolio Arts and Crafts on Friday 26th August, 2011, the cost is £25 including materials and the loan of brushes etc. The class will be kept small so as to ensure individual attention but I expect there to be some spaces available on the day. To book a place telephone me on 07776 036674
The session will focus on producing an oil painting based on a maritime theme. The painting will be done alla prima which is a style of painting where the painting is completed while the paint is still wet. That is the painting will be started and finished in one painting session. I will provide a paper tray with which you will be able to get your painting home as Oil paint takes a few days to dry. For those who are on public transport or do not wish to paint in oils there will be the option to paint in acrylics.
I will discuss the techniques used to produce the final painting using a step by step approach which allows the student to quickly develop confidence while also acquiring there own style of painting.
